Hugo Ferdinand Boss was a German fashion designer born on July 8, 1885 in Metzingen, Germany. He founded the clothing company Hugo Boss AG in 1924. During World War II, Boss’s company used forced laborers from Poland and France. After the war, Boss was fined and briefly imprisoned for his support of Nazism. Boss died on August 9, 1948 in Metzingen, Germany.
